Researchers is working on a mosquito-killing laser with ability to kill around 100 mosquitoes per second

This device is called the mosquito laser and it was invented by an astrophysicist, Lowell Wood. The reasons behind it invention is simple, to kill as much mosquitoes as possible to prevent malaria from spreading. It was originally introduced in 1980s but not much research had ever been done about this device until decades later. In a struggle to fight malaria, Intellectual Ventures has once again resurrected the idea of using laser to kill mosquitoes to prevent the diseases from spreading. This idea however, has been criticized due to the fact that most area that’s affected by malaria doesn’t have a reliable source of electricity. How it all started They were brainstorming for some ideas to end malaria crisis when an architects from the Strategic Defense Initiative was suggesting that they build a laser that can shoot and kill the mosquitoes. Researchers found that lab rats are willing to help set their partner free

If you had to choose between helping a tortured friend out of their misery & getting 1 million dollar all for yourself, which one would you choose? We all know that a lot of people out there will choose money. However, Inbal Ben-Ami Bartal from the University of Chicago had discovered that rats are able to learn and willing to set-free their cage-mate. And unlike most human, this rat seems willing to help even when it got nothing in return. The researcher even try to distract the rat by using chocolate but the rat still keep it focus to save the trapped cage mate. However, lab rats helping each other weren’t actually a new discovery. Back in 1959, Russell Church, a psychologist had train a rat to press a lever to get food. The psychologist then connects the lever to another cage that contains another rat. In the future, there might going be 30 to 50 million unmarried man in China

Due to prenatal scans and people in China prefer to have a son instead of a daughter. In 20 years, there might going to be 30-50 million unmarried men in China. Prof Li Shuzhuo of the institute for population and development studies at Xi'an Jiaotong University said that a normal human birth ratio should be 106 males for every 100 female. However, in China the amount of male had increase to 118. Which mean in the next two decade, there could be 30 to 50 million men having trouble finding a female. Why this happen This situation accure because in Chinese culture, a men will continue the family line. When a women get married, she will join her husband family and not the other way around. There are 7000 different type of apples in the world

There are so many different types of apples in the world that it would take almost 20 years for a person to try them all if s/he eat one new type of apple everyday. According to the book, Cook's Wisdom, there are 7000 type of apples in the world. Most common type of apples such as Red Delicious, Golden Delicious, Granny Smith, Gala, and McIntosh can be found in the U.S. Modern farming and production of apples that seem to be mass producing only certain type of apples might be the reasons why a lot of people didn't realize that the variety of apples is actually this much. Blue street are able to reduce crime and suicide?

Some area in Scotland and Japan switched to blue street light. As a result, crime and suicide rate in the area are decreasing. In year 2000, a blue street light was introduced in Glasgow, Scotland to improve the city landscape. The number of crime in the area are getting lower after that. Similar thing happen in Nara, Japan when the police started to set up blue street light around the neighborhood. The crime rate is reduced by 9 percent.
