There was suppose to be an even older tree called Prometheus there but the tree was cut down in 1964.

 Base on the fossils that they found, researchers estimate that this species exist since 35 million years ago. However, the oldest of the species that still live today is only 3500 year old. This tree is called Alerce and can be found in Chile.
