Methuselah is a pine tree and considered as world oldest tree. How old is the oldest tree? you might wonder, the Methuselah had live for more than 4,800 years.  It is located in Great Basin Bristlecone, Nevada. There was suppose to be an even older tree called Prometheus there but the tree was cut down in 1964.

Sarv e-Abarkooh

This tree is located in Abarkooh, Iran. Sarv e-Abarkooh is a cypress tree that had live for almost 4,000 years.  The tree is also known as 'Zoroastrian Sarv' and it is a symbol of community and religion for the Iranian.

Alerce

 Base on the fossils that they found, researchers estimate that this species exist since 35 million years ago. However, the oldest of the species that still live today is only 3500 year old. This tree is called Alerce and can be found in Chile.

This tree play a major roles for communities in Wales. The peoples there usually plant this tree at the cemetery as a symbol of life eternity (according to their culture and believe).

“The Senator” was found in Florida, U.S, it is the biggest tree in Mississippi river. This Bald Cypress tree was estimated to had live for about 3,400 to 3,500 years.

Alyshun
The Alyshun tree
This tree is located in Taiwan and was estimated to had live for about 3,000 years. Unfortunately, the tree was destroyed due to heavy rain and storm in July,1, 1997.

General Sherman
The general sherman tree
It is the youngest ancient Giant Sequoia tree and it can be found in Sequioa National Park. It is believed that this tree had live for about 2,300 to 2,700 years.

Jhomonsugi
Jhomonsugi tree
This is the youngest among the oldest tree in the world. It can be found in Yakushima, Japan and ages around 2,170 years old.

Researchers is working on a mosquito-killing laser with ability to kill around 100 mosquitoes per second

This device is called the mosquito laser and it was invented by an astrophysicist, Lowell Wood. The reasons behind it invention is simple, to kill as much mosquitoes as possible to prevent malaria from spreading. It was originally introduced in 1980s but not much research had ever been done about this device until decades later. In a struggle to fight malaria, Intellectual Ventures has once again resurrected the idea of using laser to kill mosquitoes to prevent the diseases from spreading. This idea however, has been criticized due to the fact that most area that’s affected by malaria doesn’t have a reliable source of electricity. How it all started They were brainstorming for some ideas to end malaria crisis when an architects from the Strategic Defense Initiative was suggesting that they build a laser that can shoot and kill the mosquitoes.
