Researchers is working on a mosquito-killing laser with ability to kill around 100 mosquitoes per second

This device is called the mosquito laser and it was invented by an astrophysicist, Lowell Wood. The reasons behind it invention is simple, to kill as much mosquitoes as possible to prevent malaria from spreading. It was originally introduced in 1980s but not much research had ever been done about this device until decades later. In a struggle to fight malaria, Intellectual Ventures has once again resurrected the idea of using laser to kill mosquitoes to prevent the diseases from spreading. This idea however, has been criticized due to the fact that most area that’s affected by malaria doesn’t have a reliable source of electricity. How it all started They were brainstorming for some ideas to end malaria crisis when an architects from the Strategic Defense Initiative was suggesting that they build a laser that can shoot and kill the mosquitoes. Shortly after that, many scientists at Intellectual Ventures has follow up with that idea and they manage to start shooting mosquitoes
